Many of us have had supervision where we haven’t felt particularly challenged and the support has been alright, but it’s been more about reporting on your clients and their progress i.e. case management. That has its place but that’s not what I want you to get out of our supervision together.
I’m offering passionate supervision; that is, inviting you to look a little deeper, not just at the client and their processes, but also at what is going on for you within the relationship. I hope to create a supervisory space in which you feel able to be vulnerable and bring the hard stuff about your work. If you work creatively, I’d encourage and support you to bring that into supervision as well; creativity in supervision is a great way for us to look at your work through another lens. My goal as your supervisor is for you to feel supported, safe, empowered, and confident in your work.
I have a particular interest in supporting neurodivergent supervisees. I’m ND myself and know how hard it can be to manage things like overwhelm, fatigue, burnout, brain fog…the list goes on! I don’t have all of the answers, I’m always learning, but I do have an understanding of what you might be struggling with and will support you to approach your struggles with compassion and make sure that your own self-care is something we attend to.
A bit about me – I am an integrative counsellor/psychotherapist working from a relational approach with over 10 years experience. My initial training was MSc Therapeutic Counselling, and I have a Certificate in Couples Counselling and a Certificate in Supervision. I have been in private practice since 2016 and I work with adults and couples; I work both in person and online with a diverse client base. From previous roles I have a lot of experience working short-term with clients, usually 6 sessions or 6-24 sessions. In my private practice I often work longer-term with clients, sometimes for years, and I enjoy that deeper psychotherapeutic work too.
