My name is Danielle Goshawk, I am a qualified and experienced integrative therapist offering counselling to individuals and couples.

Integrative therapy means that I draw on different psychological theories and techniques to work with you as an individual to address your particular needs. I share the widely held belief that the relationship between therapist and client is the most important aspect of our work together.  With that in mind, I offer a confidential, non-judgmental and empathetic approach to enable you to feel safe and comfortable enough to talk about yourself and explore the difficulties that you are experiencing.  Whether you have come to address issues from the past that are troubling you, or whether you are struggling with current difficulties I am here to support you as you work towards a greater understanding of yourself and begin to make positive changes for the future.

I also offer couples counselling and approach this with the same principles that underpin individual therapy, you and your partner can feel reassured that it is confidential and non-judgmental. My aim is to understand the dynamics of the couple relationship in order to help you as a couple communicate better with one another and find a way through the difficulties in the relationship. It is important that both partners have an equal opportunity to speak and to hear one another and I will provide the space for that.

I have several years experience providing counselling in various settings, including in NHS primary care (GP surgeries).  I have worked with individuals suffering from many different mental health conditions, such as depression and anxiety, as well as those struggling with life events, such as bereavement and relationship breakdown.  I have also worked in NHS secondary care as a psychotherapist, working with individuals with more complex mental health needs or who had experienced various forms of trauma and abuse.
